Flag Football Plays (5v5 and 7v7)

Every play below has a formation you can draw, step-by-step routes, coaching points, common mistakes, a variation, and a one-line wristband call. They're written for youth, high school and adult co-ed teams. Rules differ between NFL FLAG, rec and adult leagues, so each page flags anything you should check with your league.

Building a small playbook

Start with one easy completion (Curl-Flat), one man-beater (Mesh), one zone-beater (Flood or Smash), one run (Jet sweep) and one no-run-zone pass (PA Boot). Mirror each to both sides. That's ten calls from five plays. Put them on a wristband card.

FAQ

What are the best 5v5 flag football plays?
A balanced 5v5 menu usually includes a quick high-low pass like curl-flat, a crossing play like mesh for man coverage, an overload like flood for zone, a handoff run like a jet sweep, and a pass you can call in the no-run zone.
Are there free printable flag football plays?
Yes. Each play on this page has a one-line wristband call you can copy onto any insert. The wristband page has a six-play 5v5 card.
